Implant and Other Types of Dentures
Dental implants are an innovative solution to replacing lost teeth, and involve small, biocompatible titanium posts designed to restore the roots. At Lone Star Dental Care, Dr. Vahadi offers a number of dental implant-supported restorations, including a variety of implant-retained dentures. With the support of one or more implant posts, your denture or dentures will look, feel, and function more like healthy, natural teeth.
Snap-In Implant Dentures
Snap-in implant dentures are “snapped” onto connective abutments which are attached to the implant posts. This type of denture is removable and easy to clean. Snap-in implant dentures tend to be more cost-effective than non-removable options, and may be ideal for patients on a tighter budget.
Screw-In Implant Dentures
Screw-in implant dentures are not removable by the patient, but are instead “screwed” to the implant posts for a more secure and permanent solution. Screw-in dentures, or hybrid dentures, closely mimic healthy, natural, permanent teeth, and though they cannot be removed, they are still remarkably easy to clean and maintain.
Removable implant dentures, also known as overdentures, combine the benefits of dental implants with the convenience of conventional removable dentures. Overdentures may require fewer implant posts than other implant denture options, and because they can be removed, they are easy to keep clean every day.
