Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that affects the gums, supporting bone, and tissue around your teeth. Perio Protect is a specialized type of periodontal treatment which is ideal for patients who suffer from mild to moderate gum disease. Perio Protect is a non-invasive procedure using a tray which is custom-fit to your mouth. The tray is filled with medication which treats the gums and eliminates bacteria.

Osseous Surgery

The osseous surgery treatment is a procedure which removes bacteria and infections from the supporting jawbone. This treatment is performed when the bone and gum tissue around the teeth is infected. This is typically performed with a local anesthetic to numb the area, allowing for a more comfortable procedure. The dentist removes the infected tissue from the jawbone and thoroughly cleans the affected area. A bone or gingival graft is used to place healthy bone or gum tissue at the removal site. A membrane may be placed over the area to help tissue heal and grow properly. The dentist may use PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to stimulate bone and tissue growth.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a surgical procedure which involves adding bone to an area of the jaw which has deteriorated due to advanced gum disease.
